Cookie Policy
This page lists what GovWire actually stores on your device and what it never loads without your permission. When you first visit, a small popup in the lower right corner asks you to accept all cookies or keep it to essential cookies only. Your answer is remembered in your browser, and a tracker we are not allowed to run stays off until you accept it.

Essential, and opt-in
Essential items keep GovWire running and secure, and they are always on. Opt-in items cover analytics, marketing, and advertising, and they load only after you choose Accept all. One opt-in item is installed today: the Apollo.io website tracker, which stays parked in the site code and never runs until you have accepted all cookies. This page is updated here whenever anything else changes.
| Category | Provider | What it does | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Essential: always on | |||
| Session and sign-in | GovWire (first party) | Keeps you signed in and carries your session so pages load correctly. | Always on |
| Security and bot protection | GovWire and its hosting platform | Protects logins, forms, and endpoints from abuse and automated attacks. | Always on |
| Cookie choice | GovWire (first party) | Stores your choice under the key cookie_consent so we do not ask on every visit. | Always on |
| Aggregate page counts | GovWire hosting platform (first party) | Counts page views so we can see which pages are used. No advertising profiles and no cross-site tracking. | Always on |
| Opt-in: only after you choose Accept all | |||
| Third-party analytics | None installed | Would measure how visitors use GovWire beyond aggregate page counts. | Loads only after Accept all |
| Marketing and visitor tracking | Apollo.io website tracker | Identifies companies showing interest in GovWire worldwide, and identifies individual visitors in the United States only. It helps us see which organizations are researching public sector technology. | Loads only after Accept all |
| Advertising | None installed | Would support ad measurement and retargeting if GovWire runs ad campaigns. | Loads only after Accept all |
What each choice does
- Essential only: GovWire stores the essential items in the table above, including the record of this choice. Analytics, marketing, and advertising cookies stay off.
- Accept all: releases any opt-in tools listed above, in addition to the essential items. If an opt-in tool is added later, it is parked in the site code and only runs for visitors who have accepted all.
- No choice yet: you keep the essential items only, and the prompt stays visible until you answer.
- Closed with the X: you can dismiss the prompt without accepting anything. That is not consent, so opt-in tools stay off and you keep the essential items only. The prompt will not return, but the button below reopens it whenever you want.
Change your choice
You have not made a cookie choice yet in this browser. Reopening the prompt lets you accept all cookies or keep it to essential only.
Managing cookies yourself
- Every major browser lets you view, block, and delete stored cookies and site data from its privacy or settings menu.
- Blocking essential items can break sign-in and other parts of GovWire, because the session cannot be kept.
- Clearing site data removes your stored cookie choice, so the prompt will appear again on your next visit.
